Force MPs to speak in the House of Commons under oath, subject to Perjury Laws.

Petition Details

Update the Oaths Act 1978 to force all Members of Parliament to speak in the House of Commons under oath, subject to the Perjury Act 1911, to ensure Members of Parliament speak truthfully when in parliament.

Additional Information

MPs lie and get away with it far too often, they need to be held accountable in law.
Never believe anything in politics until it has been officially denied

We understand you're concerned about what is said by MPs in the House of Commons, however MPs already swear in according to the Oaths Act so it's not clear exactly what you want to change.
