Allow elderly hospital patients to access television free of charge
Make television and radio free in hospitals for elderly patients who have limited visitation.
Television and radio provide a welcome distraction for those who have been hospitalised, and are especially important for those who are experiencing limited visitation due to Covid-19. Many elderly people are especially reliant on tv and radio to lessen the effects of loneliness, it is only right that this should be continued in hospital. For elderly patients, the anxiety that surrounds the cost of essential care upon their discharge is sadly discouraging them from purchasing this basic amenity.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
Petitions must call for a specific action that the UK Government or House of Commons is responsible for.
Decisions about whether to charge for television are a matter for individual hospitals, not the Government or House of Commons.
We could accept a petition calling on the Government to fund free TV access for all NHS hospital patients, if that's something you would like to happen.
