Make it Illegal to run over a cat!
Road Traffic Act 1988, section 170 States that if you run over a dog you have to give the drivers name and address to the owner or person in charge of the dog and to the police.
So why doesn’t the same rule apply to cats? Yes cats are known to walk the streets and to explore gardens.
Just because cats are known to free roam this doesn’t mean people shouldn’t be responsible for running over or injuring a cat. It can still cause distress for the family or anyone that sees the injured animal, it’s still someone’s pet.
