Change the antiquated laws regarding telling lies in parliament
It must not be the norm that lies are permitted to be spoken in parliament with impunity.
It is wrong that those that call out these lies are sanctioned.
Parliament needs to urgently change the antiquated laws regarding anyone that might lie in parliament and those that challenge them.
Politicians in parliament should be expected to speak and act with honesty and integrity at all times – this should be the norm.
There may have been a time in the distant past when members of parliament, ministers and the prime minister would always be expected to tell the truth in parliament – it appears that time may have now passed.
Parliament needs to urgently change the antiquated rules that govern any mistruths spoken in parliament.
It is time for change.
