Over 60s should retake their theory and practical driving test every ten years
For safety reasons for themselves and others on the road we think over 60s should have to retake their theory and practical driving test every ten years, 60-70-80 and 90 years of age.
After people start hitting a certain age their motor skill and cognitive skills reduce and their reaction time lessens we think if we can catch those things a little earlier while they retaking their theory and practical tests then it would benefit a lot of road users, it could stop a lot of accidents and collisions happening.
There have been a lot of new vehicles regulations and I would also say a lot of the theory has changed too.
This is for the safety of the public.
