Provide Concessions to Visa Rules for Myanmar Nationals due to current unrest

Petition Details

We are imploring the UK Home Office to protect Myanmar nationals in the UK who are facing visa uncertainty by granting them "protection visas" allowing them to stay in the UK due to the political instability following the military coup in Myanmar.

Additional Information

Following the military coup in Myanmar, Myanmar nationals abroad including students have been actively voicing their rejection and condemnation of the actions by the junta. If forced to return to Myanmar, they may face persecution by the military regime. Thus, the UK government should prioritise providing protection visas instead of being forced to make repeated extension requests which create additional stress, anxiety and uncertainty for their future.
