To overhaul the investigation and court process of child sexual abuse cases.
Disclosing sexual abuse is a difficult and distressing experience for any victim, even worse if the victim is a child!. And all too often these cases never go to court due to as police will say ‘lack of evidence’. So the perpetrator walks free.
Whilst the child is left feeling let down by everyone
The government needs to act and review court procedures and let all child sexual abuse cases go to court. Allow Judge and Jury the final say over the case, to ensure the welfare of the child is prioritised.
Something needs to change to stop these vulnerable children losing faith in humanity, police and everyone. Reaching a ultimate low that in some cases see them seeking comfort from drugs or other substances, self harm or worse.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
Decisions about investigating alleged offences and prosecuting these are a matter for the police and Crown Prosecution Service, not the Government or House of Commons. Similarly, decisions about whether a defendant is guilty, and any sentence, are a matter for the courts, not the Government or House of Commons.
We could accept a petition calling on the Government to review how the criminal justice system deals with child sexual offence allegations, in the same way it has recently done for rape cases.
