Fix the few Hyper-Emitting Powerplants which create 52% of CO2 Emissions
Just 5% of the world’s power plants account for almost three-quarters of carbon emissions from electricity generation.
The UK could lead the charge in a crackdown on these few powerplants to make them more efficient.
This would result in a 25% decrease of emissions and switching their fuel source from coal or oil to natural gas could cut global emissions by almost 30%.
This would be a massive step forward for a reasonably small cost.
We're seeing our planet become more dangerous every day and our personal lifestyle choices are not enough to change this.
We have to collaborate with other countries and crackdown on these super-polluters.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.
We understand that you are concerned about emissions from certain power plants, but we're not sure exactly what you'd like the Government or Parliament to do. In any case, the UK Government is only responsible for energy and environmental policy for the UK, not the rest of the world.
If there are particular actions you would like the Government to take in respect of UK-based power plants you could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do.
