Accelerate Clean Energy, using Solar to encourage Virtual Power Plants
Mandate from 1st February all new buildings must be fitted with Solar Tiles or Panels covering an area no less than 80% of the roof. From the 1st February 2030 all buildings having roof repairs which exceed 30% of area must have Solar Tiles or Panel covering an area no less than 80% of roof area.
All Solar deployments must participate in a Virtual Power Plant so that they can be used to stabilise the Grid, provide power at night and help charge electric vehicles. Building regulations must be updated. Local energy companies must provide the necessary connectivity within 90 days of application. Protection must be offered to ensure Solar energy can be collected.

It's not clear what you mean by a "virtual power plant", especially as your petition refers to this providing power at night, when solar panels would not be generating energy.
