Change the law on dangerous dogs attacks
I want them to change the dangerous dog law act section 1 in 1997 the law was amended relating rules the act only covers dog attacks to a human not injury or death to other animals and does not cover mental injury to a human witnessing a attack PTSD for example
After being attacked on my own front doorstep with my 2dogs by 2 dangerously out of control dogs not muzzled or on leads which resulted in one of my dogs dying I want there to be tougher sentences for the owners of these dogs on a public road this attack has had a massive impact on myself and my family also my other dog which survived especially as the owners made no attempt to help me and just laughed it of and ran away I hope I can stop this from happening to anyone

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.
We understand that you are concerned about dog attacks, but we're not sure exactly what you'd like the Government or Parliament to do. Section 1 of the Dangerous Dogs Act relates to dogs bred for fighting, and it's not clear what if any changes you want to this section of this Act.
Section 3 of the Dangerous Dogs Act 1991 makes it an offence for an owner to let their dog get dangerously out of control, and we have published the following petitions calling for changes to these rules, which you might like to sign:
Increase penalties for the owners of dangerously out of control dogs: petition.parliament.uk/petitions/581140
Extend Dogs (Protection of Livestock) Act 1953 protections to all Wildlife: petition.parliament.uk/petitions/574020
If you wan the Government to do something different to the above petitions you could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do.
