Give the people of the UK a vote on Devolved Parliaments.
Give the people a vote …….The People of the UK have never voted on whether they want devolved parliaments it’s just another thing we’ve had introduced by a past government.
Devolved parliaments have divided the UK when we should be pulling together unity is our strength not division.
Whilst the theory of having local issues decided by a local body is fine, the reality of Devolved Parliament’s with so much power is seen by most has an expensive the UK doesn’t need plus they continually undermine the national needs of the UK. They serve no purpose other than to cause hatred and division.
You can't sign this petition because it was rejected. But you can still comment on it here at Repetition.me!
The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
Decisions about governance of Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland are a matter for the people of these nations. Under existing legislation, the devolved Parliaments cannot be abolished except if the people of the devolved nations vote to do so in a referendum. This would therefore be a decision for the people of Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.
You could start a petition calling on the UK Government to organise referendums on the future of the devolved assemblies, to take place in each of the devolved nations, if that's something you'd like to see happen.
