Reconsider the decision to charge an entry fee for the Nottingham Goose Fair
Keep the fair open for all to visit free of charge, as the fair is fun and safe for the residents of Nottingham. Given that it is an outdoor establishment there should be no need to control entry from a covid-19 perspective.
Nottingham Goose Fair is over 700 years old, and the people of Nottingham are keen to protect its heritage by ensuring that people from all financial backgrounds can still enjoy the experience every year. Nottingham City Councils proposal of a perimeter fence and entry fee change the dynamic of the fair forever and could have a detrimental effect on its future. Associated showmen agree with this and are considering a move, however the forest is still the preferred site.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
Petitions must call for a specific action that the UK Government or House of Commons is responsible for.
Decisions about charging an entry fee for events like this are a matter for the organisers, not the Government or House of Commons. As a result it is not possible for the Government or House of Commons to take the action you have requested.
You could raise this issue with a local councillor, who represents you. You can use this page to find out who your local councillors are, and how to contact them: www.gov.uk/find-your-local-councillors
