Petition Action

Push for a stronger UN response in Afghanistan after the recent capture of Herat

Petition Details

After the pulling out of NATO forces, especially British and American forces, the Taliban have gained ground in Afghanistan and while peace talks in Qatar are active there needs to be immediate action by the International community.

Additional Information

While I believe an emergency committee should be set up to conceive of the best plan for immediate and long term solutions it is vital for the lives of 38 million that action to protect the Afghan nation is taken. Kabul is already at risk with Herat falling and while the Qatar peace talks are happening the Taliban are gaining ground and thus power in negotiations. International forces need to protect Kabul and enforce a cease-fire between Afghan and Taliban forces.
