Mandatory biannual reapplication for all firearm licences

Petition Details

All individuals that currently hold firearms licences should be required to reapply for these in the next six months, and must undertake a medical and mental health check before having a licence reissued. This should be made a biannual process going forward.

Additional Information

After the recent tragic events in Plymouth shootings, it essential that we establish if there are people who currently hold firearms licences that should not be in possession of a firearm.

What we want the Government to do is make all current licence holders renew their licenses within the next 6 months.

A medical and mental health assessment must be completed, paid for by the applicant, in order to have the licence renewed. This process is to be made a biannual requirement for all licences.
