Gemsfight- Lower the age of smear tests.
Sexually active women know their own body.
Please consider lowering the age smear tests are available to us as well as every 2 years instead of 3.
In order for us to feel somewhat ‘safe’ we need reassurance.
Although HPV can lay dormant in a persons body for years without any issues, it is also very common for problems to arise very quickly.
From my own experience I was diagnosed with an aggressive form of stage 3 cervical cancer with no red flags from my previous smear.
With lowering the age you will encourage women to turn up without the fear they will not be listened too.
You will help save many lives.
You will let children have more time with their mum.
You will raise awareness.
