Petition Action

Provide Covid-19 Vaccine supplies for Nepal as a matter of urgency

Petition Details

The UK has provided equipment etc for Nepal but insufficient Covid-19 vaccines. Nepal was not on the most recent list of 19 countries produced by the Foreign and Commonwealth Office. It urgently needs help

Additional Information

The number of active Covid-19 cases and deaths in Nepal is rising fast.
The Foreign and Commonwealth and Development Office list of 19 countries selected to receive vaccines through bilateral agreements between the UK and recipient countries did not include Nepal, while Indonesia, Kenya and Jamaica were. China, Japan, USA, and Thailand are delivering, or have already delivered Vaccines. Nepal's demand is huge and medical facilities are poor the supply is insufficient. A new Kappa mutant has been reported which has worldwide implications,

We urge HM Government to reconsider its policy towards the support of Nepal as a matter of great urgency and send vaccines to save lives.
