Make it compulsory for every council in the UK to offer at least 1 cycle of IVF
End the postcode lottery on IVF!
Make it compulsory for every council in the UK to offer at least 1 cycle of IVF and remove the discrimination that UK citizens face dependent on where they live. Why should your postcode be the deciding factor on whether you are entitled to NHS IVF funding?
The National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence (NICE), state that the NHS should offer women under 40 three full cycles of IVF if they have been trying for a child for more than two years.
There is currently a disgracefully unfair system that determines your eligibility based on Postcode. Scotland: 3 cycles, Wales: 2 and Northern Ireland: 1 cycle. Some councils in England do not offer anything - this is wrong! It is a NATIONAL health service and should not be restricted on postcode.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
Petitions must call for a specific action that the UK Government or House of Commons is responsible for.
Decisions about healthcare in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland are a matter for the Scottish, Welsh and Northern Ireland governments, not the Government or House of Commons. As a result it is not possible for the Government or House of Commons to take the action you have requested.
We could accept a petition about the availability of IVF treatment in England.
