Stop Landlords From Charging Excessive Amounts Over The Local Housing Allowance
Regulate the prices that landlords charge for non-luxurious properties by introducing a law in which means landlords may not charge over 15% of the Local Housing Allowance for a standard property.
With no end to the current social housing crisis in sight hundreds of thousands of families have no other option other to turn to landlords in order to seek a place to live. However there is no regulation in order to keep these properties affordable for the majority of the country.
The Government needs to introduce a law in which prevents landlords from charging more than 15% over the LHA by creating a complete ban or significantly increasing taxes for the landlords that do charge over this.
