Shorter waiting lists/easier access to Mental Health services for young people
At the moment, even young people on “
crisis lists (suicidal etc) are having to wait up to 8 months to be seen by a Mental Health Service. Anything could happen in this time and a lot of young people are not taken seriously and are not listened to.
There should be more funding and more of a general focus on mental health for young people. We feel neglected, not listened to or taken seriously the majority of the time. The waiting lists are too long, there needs to be more done to ensure we are getting the help we need ASAP.
