Bring in a affordable universal school uniform

Petition Details

I would like a universal uniform for all schools in the UK that can be bought from any supplier. Only allowing the school to sell individual attachable badges and ties.

Additional Information

I want to government to do this because far too many people struggle with buying overpriced uniforms from suppliers dictated to them by schools.

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

Education policy, including decisions on schools' uniform policies, is devolved, meaning the UK Government is not responsible for uniform policy for the entire UK. This is the responsibility of the Northern Ireland Executive (for Northern Ireland), Scottish Government (for Scotland) and Welsh Government (for Wales) respectively.

You could have a petition calling for the Government to set a standard uniform for all maintained schools in England, if that is something you'd like to see happen.
