Reverse the cuts, and increase investment in Public Transport.
We the undersigned demand that Baroness Vere, and the Government, increase investment in our Public Transport network, and halt all plans to cut the budget from 27.42 million to less than 9 million.
The current budget has resulted in less subsidy for transport providers, higher fares and loss of services; unfairly hitting those with lower incomes, senior citizens, non drivers, students, residents of rural areas, and anyone with disabilities/poor mobility; reducing both access to and positive outcomes in, medical care, employment, education and training opportunities. To cut deeper still flies in the face of the Government's aims to 'Level Up', 'Bus Back Better', 'Tackle Climate Change',

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action. We understand you're concerned about funding for public transport, but we're not sure exactly what you'd like the Government or Parliament to do.
You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you'd like the Government or Parliament to do, for example providing additional funding to local authorities to invest in local public transport.
