Demand a change to the UK Benefits System in order to fight against Oppression
For Welfare Benefits to be amended in order to reflect the cost of today's living.
Take Housing Benefit for example. A single person who is aged between 18-35, unless severely disabled, is only entitled to the shared bedroom rent amount. This nowhere near reflects what private landlords charge.
UK Welfare Benefits in the UK do not reflect what today's cost of essential living is. This in effect is causing more people each year to enter into poverty. There are currenty four million children in the UK living in poverty. In addition to this, 2.5 million emergency food parcels were given out to people in crisis. The effects of poverty have well know causes including crime, child neglect and mental health. This in turn will cost the Government more in effect

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.
We understand that you are concerned about support through the benefit system, but we're not sure exactly what you'd like the Government or Parliament to do.
You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do.
