reform of charity commission and greater control of charities business activites
The Charity Commission self admittedly lacks sufficient legal powers to fully and adequately monitor and control business relationships and activities of the larger charities.
Charities have a special and privileged relationship in respect of taxation and other fiscal matters.
Some large charities have considerable business and commercial interests (akin to large businesses) that impact on the general public(for example as landlords)
There is sometimes a conflict between the power of the charity as donors to the establishment and their actions against individuals and their rights.
Charities require greater fiscal scrutiny and the Commission Greater legal powers to manage them.
