Make National Insurance contributions 8% across the board
Instead of raising National Insurance contributions for the lowest income households, impose an 8% across the board payment for all households.
Thus reducing payments for those who earn less than £50k a year and increasing the contributions for people earning more than £50k (and can afford it)
Because the lowest income households and minimum wage staff have been the backbone of the country, dragging it through unprecedented times, whilst the wealthy have sat at the top making the most of the furlough scheme amongst other loopholes to further line their pockets

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.
We understand that you want to see changes to National Insurance contributions, but we're not sure exactly how you want this to work. Your petition calls for an 8% rate of National Insurance across the board, but it's not clear if you want this to apply to people who earn under £184.01 a week, who currently pay no National Insurance, as this would mean that some people on lower incomes would pay more National Insurance than they do now.
You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do.
We have published the following petition, which you might like to sign:
