Stop the 1.25% NI increase

Petition Details

Stop the 1.25% NI increase going through. It is completely against the 2019 manifesto the Conservative government were elected in on.

Additional Information

Taxes are high enough already and this further rise could be crippling not only for individuals but also small and medium size businesses which prop up the UK economy and have struggled to stay afloat throughout the pandemic. This rise represents a further £255 on top of the £2,451 already paid for someone earning £30,000 or £505 above and beyond the £4,851 currently paid by someone earning £50,000. This is in addition to income tax, VAT and all manner of other taxes just to live day to day.
