Petition Action

To hand control of the arms trade and its profits to the United Nations (UN).

Petition Details

Liaise with world powers to ensure control of the arms industry. The UN must govern profits to reassure the public that the arms industry is not profiteering. The UN can use profits to create a peace-keeping force able to protect those in danger, support war-torn/refugee populations and their hosts.

Additional Information

Bombing of any kind causes on-going suffering and should be governed by the same rules that control chemical and other weapons.

Blanket bombing causes huge destruction and suffering, alienates the victims and serves little positive purpose other than to enrich the arms manufacturers.

Human nature can tend towards violence, but governments should set a good example and show maximum respect for humanity.

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.

We understand that you are concerned about arms control, but we're not sure exactly what you'd like the Government or Parliament to do.

You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do.
