Petition Action

We need a right to repair in all electronic devices for a minimum of 10 years.

Petition Details

Following a recent visit to an Apple store with an electronic device (iPad) that was only just over 1 year old, the back plate of the device needed replacing. The device is in perfect working order, but has very small damage to the metal back plate. Only option presented - buy a new one at £900.

Additional Information

Companies are forcing customers to spend money on brand new products to make more money rather than charging a nominal fee for repair. It’s also extremely damaging to the environment to be constantly making people buy new devices when simple repairs could be made to prolong the life of the existing item.
