Fast track policy implementation to meet net zero by 2050.
The UK is a long way off track to meet its 2050 net zero carbon target and as the COP26 host, it is vitally important that our own house is in order.
Fast tracking policy implementation and publishing promised decarbonisation strategies should be the government’s immediate focus.
Decisive action now will be cheaper than the high economic costs of climate breakdown and will help to protect those on the lowest incomes from adverse impacts.
Rapid decarbonisation will also benefit society through improved health and wellbeing, and job creation in new emerging industries.
Ensuring the costs and benefits of this transition are fairly distributed will require strong leadership from government.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.
We're not sure exactly what you'd like the Government or Parliament to do to fast track policy implementation, such as which policies you'd like to be implemented.
You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do.
