Abolish age based minimum wage
I would like The Government to remove the minimum wage for different ages.
If I work 40 hours a week at a minimum wage paying job at 19 I earn £262.40 before any deductions (Tax, National Insurance) however if a 24 year old works the same hours at the same job they will earn £356.40 a week before deductions. However, times have changed and their are young adults aged 19 with their own homes and children but then people aged 24 in the same situation their rents will cost the same for the same house but the 24 year old is better off due to age. This is discrimination an employer cannot chose to not employ me because my age so why are they allowed to pay different?
