Reform of Ofgem, the UK's Energy regulator
Ofgem is in need of reform in order to fairly regulate the energy industry.
With multiple supplier failures we believe there are failures by the regulator to successfully manage the market, an example of this would be capping of energy pricing for retailers, but Ofgem actively increasing volatility in the electricity balancing mechanism.
With this in mind, in the interest of a fair, regulated market and the jobs at risk owing to Ofgem's inability to successfully regulate the industry, we would request the Government step in urgently and seek to reform the regulator.
