Heavily subsidise fruit, vegetables, pulses, legumes, cereals, nuts, white meat and fish sourced in the UK
We want the government to heavily subsidise fruit, vegetables, pulses, legumes, cereals, nuts, white meat and fish that is sourced in the U.K. to the tune of 50%.
We argue that this would:
* Allow everyone in the U.K. access to a healthy diet, which should be a basic human right
* Prevent the poorest in the U.K. from having to choose between heating and eating, and the need for food banks
* Reduce obesity levels in the U.K. and therefore cut down on healthcare costs, and enable more people to be physically active and able to work
* Cut down import and export costs
