Petition Action

Make the media accountable for printing and airing misinformation to the public

Petition Details

Impose fines, demand front page public apologies and reform of the media for instilling mass panic during the global pandemic and fuel/HGV driver shortages.

Additional Information

For too long the media have had the freedom to print and air misleading information pertaining to shortages of food, medicine, fuel, drivers etc. This has to stop. The media need to be held to account for causing panic buying and mass hysteria amongst the general public of the United Kingdom. The actions of the media have put lives at risk, caused businesses to close, caused more shortages of essential items due to spreading inaccurate information to the UK public. This needs to be actioned.
