Petition Action

Do not reduce earnings threshold for student loan repayments!

Petition Details

Low earning graduates can not afford another tax to be added on top of all the additional tax burdens placed on them this year to pay back for covid.

Additional Information

NI has been increased this year. The tax-free income threshold has been frozen for the next 5 years, pulling more and more low earners into paying increased tax. Energy bills have skyrocketed, councils are looking into increasing council tax. There is a cost-of-living crisis, people can't get on the property ladder. Not enough children are being born to replace the population, if you want to increase reproductivity this is not the way to do it because now we are all poorer than we already were.
