Align salaries of Chartered Psychologists with other doctorate level NHS staff
To change the salary banding for Chartered Psychologists to reflect their level of education (doctorate level) and experience. For Chartered Psychologists to be paid on a par with other Medical practitioners (doctors).
Mental health concerns are becoming more prevalent within society. Demand for Chartered Psychologists continues to increase and the amount and level of work completed should be recognized and valued. It takes a minimum of 6 years training to become a Chartered Psychologist and on average this is much longer (8-12 years). To become a Nurse takes 3 years, yet Psychologists and Nurses are on the same banding scale. Psychologists should be paid on the same banding scale as other Doctors.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
The NHS is responsible for decisions around pay bands for Chartered Psychologists, rather than the Government. You could start a petition asking the Government to review the pay of Chartered Psychologists more widely.
