Reject the A level "transition approach" in 2022 and an unfair topic lottery.
Students should be graded on merit and in 2022 they should be provided with additional ways to improve their grades failing which they will be unfairly disadvantaged by the 2021 grade inflation already allowed. The playing fields need to be levelled and a topic only lottery reduces equity further.
A level and GCSE results should not be based on a transition strategy which reduces the number of students which obtain a top grade. More should be done to assist 2022 students who are disadvantaged by 2021 grade inflation. Private schools awarded the most top grades increasing classism in our society (increased opportunities for those wealthy enough to attend these schools). This in inequitable since the playing fields are not level.
