Remove the 5 year expiry date for driver ADR licence and Tanker licence.
An additional licence is required for HGV drivers to carry ADR products, Drive tankers or to carry out breakdown recoveries. There are many more licenses like this and they all expire every five years. The expiry date of additional qualifications should be linked to the driving licence entitlement.
Gaining the additional licence is an entry point and experience and skills do not deplete after five years, so I would like to ask that the five year expiry date is scrapped. This would increase the number of drivers available to help with the driver shortages.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
The expiry time frame for an ADR licence is not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament. The ADR licence is issued and administered by the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) and they would have responsibility over expiry dates.
