Petition Details

The Government should create a new Ombudsman to look at all complaints regarding new build homes that are still under warranty for building defects, and impose additional requirements for developers or new builds properties.

Additional Information

The Ombudsman should have powers to compel developers to remedy faults, and order compensation for inconvenience, stress and financial loss.

Developers should be required to arrange a deposit for all new build properties, which is at risk if there are issues with the property.
