Black History Month to form a compulsory part of the History National Curriculum
Objectives to embed Diversity and Inclusion at societal level will fail to achieve its outcome unless the historical context of black history, forms part of the 'history national curriculum in our schools.' Black History Month is a clear subjugation of UK Parliament and the government's attempt to
quash and muzzle black people's history to one month of the year. Black history can educate those who have been institutionalized with hand-me-down stereotypes and prejudices from past generations. Young people are the future and should be the decision-makers of their own lives, and learn about the truth behind black history and not the lies they may have been indoctrinated with by their ancestors, down the line. The best way to learn is to re-learn the truth re: cultural history and identity.
