Stop HS2 and spend the money elsewhere.
HS2 will cost 20 billion but will only be spent in one part of of the country. 20 Billion could be used to renew the entire existing network, including electrifying all the line which is not electrified sorting out a lot of the existing rail bottle necks and leave some money left to be spent on other budgets such as the Home office. The current route could also be upgrade at a cheaper cost but with less cost to the tax payer.
