Introduce annual MoT’s on all cat01 and 02 trailers and caravans.
Introduce legislation for annual inspections on all Cat01 and Cat02 trailers and caravans. This should also include a-frame towed cars.
Type approval was introduced in Oct 2012 for all new Cat01 and 02 trailers. Sadly it was not backed up with any checks.
There has been a catastrophic failure 10 days ago, on an a-frame towed car (still an 02 trailer) and they are subject to no standards or controls whatsoever.
This needs be addressed before there is a fatality.
