Ban the sale of fireworks to the general public.
Ban the sale of fireworks (explosives) to the general public. Make the sale of fireworks only available to licensed permit holders (or the like) who are permitted to buy and display them
at an organised, risk assessed event with safety measures in place.
If the sale of fireworks was limited to permit holders only, the government and local councils could regulate the sale of them and ensure that all safety measures are in place at such events to safeguard the public.
Too many of these explosives end up in the hands of the wrong people who misuse them and use them in an anti social manner, causing harm, injury, distress and damage to property.
If the government introduced permits, they could regulate the sale and use of them safely.
