Remove the unfair Child Benefit claw-back ceiling figure of 60k per sole earner.
Benefit changes introduced in 2012 by the then chancellor George Osborne introduced a sliding scale to claw back Child Benefit. For every £100 earned over 50k 1% of the claimed Child Benefit must be repaid.
This means that a sole earner earning 60k would have to pay back 100% of the received benefit. Compare this to a household where both parents are working and each earn 50k. This household would still keep 100% of the Child Benefit received - even though the combined family income is 100k.
This tax is wholly unfair on sole earner families and must be rethought.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.
We're not sure exactly what you'd like the Government or Parliament to do. We're not sure whether you want to sole earners to be entitled to a £100k cap or something else.
You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do.
