Prevent Members of Parliament from receiving secondary income while in office
The role of MPs has changed significantly in recent decades, demanding a full-time focus of those elected members towards their constituents and other parliamentary obligations.
The topic of "secondary income" muddies the waters as to whether a member is genuinely acting in the best interests of the public.
MP's earn £81,932 before expenses - it is not fair to the public for MPs to be seen to "take advantage" of their public office in order to earn a significantly higher income.
