Petition Action

Ban the sale and use of fireworks in private gardens.

Petition Details

Ban the celebration of the failed gunfire plot on the Houses of Parliament back in 1605. This was a terrorist act - we do not celebrate terrorists so why continue? Fine people for setting off fireworks on non Guy Fawkes

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.

We understand that you are concerned about fireworks, but we're not sure if you want the Government to only ban the use of fireworks in private gardens, or if you want the Government to ban the release of all fireworks, on 5 November or other dates.

You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do.

We have published the following petitions, which you might like to sign:

Make fireworks illegal to buy, with the exception of public displays: petition.parliament.uk/petitions/591501

Ban the manufacture, import, sale and use of fireworks in the UK: petition.parliament.uk/petitions/599738
