Petition Action

Ban Bonfire Night in England.

Petition Details

I would like Bonfire Night to be banned in England.

Additional Information

I would like Bonfire Night to be banned in England as it causes unnecessary stress to animals and pets, in domesticated animals such as dogs it can cause violent shaking and trembling and may cause them to refuse to eat food and may loose bladder control or even bowl control and may even experience diarrhea from prolonged stress because of Fireworks.

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.

We understand that you are concerned about the impact of people celebrating Bonfire Night, but we're not sure exactly what you mean when you say you want this to be banned.

You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do. For example, we could accept a petition calling for the Government to ban the release of fireworks on 5 November, if that's something you want to happen.
