Petition Action

Ban the use and sale of all fireworks in the UK including organised displays.

Petition Details

Ban the use and sale of all fireworks and pyrotechnic displays in the United Kingdom as they disturb wildlife, produce waste and harm the environment.

Additional Information

Around bonfire night, there is a noticeable increase in air pollution and decrease in air quality. This is from particulate matter and dioxins. Approximately 5-10% of all of the UKs dioxin emissions are on this night alone. As gunpowder is the main component, sulphur and metal oxides are emitted as well.

If the uk is serious about becoming net zero then fireworks must go to meet these targets as well as to remove the litter they cause as well as disruptions and upset to wildlife.
