Increase Taxes on Animal Products and Fund Vegan Groups and Animal Charities
Every year, 77 billion land animals are slaughtered for their meat worldwide. 1.2 billion of these are killed in the UK.
The UK Government must take more action on this issue, and start by increasing taxes on animal products and increasing funding for vegan and animal rights groups and charities
Animals are confined and killed in the meat, dairy, egg, honey and fish industries. Also, agriculture is responsible for around 10% of the UK's greenhouse gas emissions.
Much of the Amazon rainforest has already been destroyed for cattle ranching. Although growing soya can also be bad for the environment, most of the soya grown is fed to farm animals.
Going vegan can also have health benefits, which could help remove strain on the NHS if more heavily promoted or forced.
