Petition Action

Make Government testing guidance reflect evolving Covid symptoms

Petition Details

UK Covid symptom prevalence now: 1 Headache 2 Runny nose 3 Sneezing 4 Sore throat 5 Cough so relying on 8 Fever and 6 Loss of Smell/Taste is unsafe. When Public are not updated of a need to test if they have the current most prevalent symptoms this could severely undermine the control of viral spread

Additional Information

Viruses evolve to debilitate less quickly because when a virus is too debilitating it’s victims do not circulate it throughout the population. The most prevalent Covid symptoms are changing so to identify infected persons accurately the advice to test needs to be guided by the best and most up to date symptom information available. The Government needs to ensure that this is done by updating its symptoms advice re Covid testing. Ref: Prof. Tim Spector of ZOE & Guys Hospital.
