Petition Details

Change pension age for construction workers from 66 to 50 years. As in general they work in hazardous environment and their life expectancy is 15 years shorter, mainly due cancer caused by dangerous fumes at work, mental and physical stress and accidents

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

Petitions must call for a specific action that the UK Government or Parliament are directly responsible for.

The Government is responsible for setting state pension age, but this does not differ depending on the industry a person has worked in. As a result it is not possible for the Government or Parliament to take the action you have requested.
