Subsidise renewable energy production, not fossil fuel extraction
Following on from COP26, introduce a full programme of government subsidies for renewable energy production and eliminate subsidies for fossil fuel extraction.
It's already been agreed worldwide that the single biggest action needed to deal with the climate crisis is to reduce fossil fuel use and promote renewable energy. It's not rocket science. If the UK government made this switch in its subsidies programme tomorrow, the carbon based giant producers would be holding top level meetings the following day to urgently change their policies to renewables. And it would be just as good for business. Thank you.

We understand that you want the Government to change how it funds the energy sector, but it's not clear what you mean by a "full programme of government subsidies for renewable energy production". The Government already provides funding for renewable generation, and it's not clear how you want this to change.
We can accept petitions calling for the Government to end financial suport for fossil fuels, although the Government says that it does give any subsidies to fossil fuels.
You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do.
